Children in, what's statistically known as, one of the poorest communities in the United States are facing unimaginable hardships. Despite the recent gentrification by artists, these families still struggle to make ends meet and provide for their children's basic needs. To make matters worse, their housing security is at risk due to private entities seeking control of the lithium deposits beneath their homes.

As someone who has witnessed the sadness and difficulties these children face daily, I am determined to make a difference in their lives. I am raising funds to directly support these kids on a need-by-need basis. Last year, I saw firsthand how something as simple as attending a county fair was out of reach for many of these children. While some were able to attend to support a friend showing an animal, most could not afford the $60 bracelets for rides or the $12 hotdogs.

The harsh summer temperatures, reaching up to 120 degrees, are unbearable for families living in trailers without air conditioning or the means to pay a $300 electric bill. With only two businesses in town – a convenience store and a local bar and restaurant – opportunities for relief are scarce.

Your contribution to this cause will make a significant impact on the lives of these underprivileged children. Together, we can provide them with the support, experiences, and necessities they deserve. The funds raised through this campaign will be used to purchase essential items and experiences for these children, such as school supplies, shoes, bottled water, field trips, travel, and entertainment. Additionally, the money will help families with utilities, ensuring they have access to air conditioning in the summer and heat during the winter months.

As an immediate goal, I would like to take 10-12 of these children, ranging from toddlers to teenagers, on a camping trip during the hottest part of the summer. The destination will be a place with a beach or lake that offers historical and educational value.
