Hearts of the Herd is a 501 (c)(3) non profit organization located in Frederick, Maryland. We provide Equine Assisted Services, including activities with academic learning, social emotional skills and therapy to school aged kids in our area. The valuable work of this unique program has a positive impact on our youth, as it provides an alternative approach to learning and therapy. The mission of Hearts of the Herd is to empower individuals to allow for personal growth through relationships with their equine partners. We do this by providing a trusting, supportive and inclusive space for individuals in need of growth, hope and help through the powerful impact of equine assisted services. Our Equine Assisted programs are designed to support the needs of our individual students. We work to meet each individual where they are and help them make growth towards their goals.

These donations, no matter the amount, will help our programs in a variety of ways. It will help to build our sliding scale payment fund that helps provide our services to children who are in financial need and may not otherwise be able to have access to our programs. The monetary donations help cover the cost of needed insurance, program materials and curriculums. It will also help us offer some of our programming to our community partners at no cost to them. This includes our Reading with Roury events that give our community children a chance to come hear a story about our herd, visit with our mini horse and participate in a variety of activities that incorporate math, reading, writing and social emotional learning. The impact of the donation will allow this programming to be equitable to all children in our area and to keep the costs lower for all famliies. This work is so incredible important and needed.
