Empower Survivors: Support AIM's Kitchenette
Tax deductible
Hey! Our names are Bridgette, Erin, Kailyn, Isa, and Vanesa and we are current students at Corban University. We have been challenged as a part of one of our course projects to make a difference in the world for women. As you can imagine, this is quite a daunting task.
Our group felt passionate about the ongoing issues of sex trafficking. We have partnered with Agape International Missions, aka AIM to raise funds in order to help women in their aftercare program. For over 18 years, AIM has fought sex trafficking in Cambodia and more recently started the fight in Belize. Through programs like AIM SWAT and Heal survivors are given a new start to life by being rescued from dangerous situations and are able to go through holistic healing programs. AIM as an organization strives to go beyond simply rescuing survivors from dangerous environments, but also empowers them by giving them the resources they need to “build lives of lasting freedom”.
This is where we need your help! The Belize Agape Restoration Home (ARH) facility will house survivors of sex trafficking who are under the age of 18. This facility will have a nursery room that accommodates up to two mothers and two children. It is AIM's intention and goal to support these young mothers as they navigate pregnancy, birth and parenting in the context of healing from complex trauma. The nursery is housed in a separate building from the main dorm, to give the moms and their children a quiet place to bond. The kitchen that had previously been in the building was demolished, due to mold. The mold has been mitigated and the room painted and ready to install a kitchenette, which will be used by these young moms for a variety of things, including some cooking and/or warming up food and bottles, refrigerating formula and breastmilk, etc.
The total cost of the kitchenette is $8,000, we are hoping to bless these women and their children with the chance to cook and eat in the safety of their own space.
With your financial support, the resources of Agape International Missions, and lots of prayers, we hope that we can join the fight against sex trafficking and truly make a difference.
Thank you so, so much for taking the time to consider the harsh reality these women face. Sex trafficking is a real ongoing problem, and the victims deserve to be fought for. If you have the resources to contribute to this cause, the donation will be gratefully accepted, and if you are feeling compelled to join the fight through knowledge, we encourage you to follow the link to the AIM website.
