Empower Tandi Family Farms' Sustainable Vision
Donation protected
Tandi Family Farms is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Urban Farm and Farm School based in San Leandro, CA, where we see ourselves as a part of, not separate from, nature. We envision a world where cultivating food nourishes diverse ecosystems, people, and communities in an endless cycle of abundance. Our mission is to inspire and empower people to live in harmony with nature through immersive farm-to-table experiences with food that is truly good.
This fundraiser will continue to support our Victory Garden Project, as well as the purchase of land for our regenerative teaching farm. We've had a successful first year, and are ready to grow!
The Victory Garden Project empowers people to grow their own food in partnership with nature, whether in their own backyard, a tiny balcony, at school or in a community garden.
We are also fundraising for the purchase of land for our regenerative teaching farm. Our vision is to rehabilitate a degraded piece of land with nature-based solutions, healing the ecosystem and growing food regeneratively. We estimate a cost of about $5 million to purchase land. Help us make our dream of a regenerative teaching farm a reality!
Thanks to generous donations like yours, we've been able to do a lot of good: In our first year we planted 10 victory gardens, providing gardening education and continuing support. We've also formed a community of many more victory gardeners and

The Tandi family immigrated from Italy to the U.S. in 1925 and settled on Bay Farm Island in Alameda, CA. They were generational farmers that instilled their ancient ancestral vocation in their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John (Giovani) was a first generation Italian American born to Angelo and Maria Tandi. He was a passionate chef that loved growing his own food and nurturing his community through the food he cooked. John passed down his love for feeding people farm-to-table to his daughters and grandchildren. Tandi Family Farms is John's legacy. Where we intend to honor him through our farming work and the food we cook.
