Warren Easton High School: Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy Program
We are excited to introduce our Team Hope Entrepreneurship & Financial Literacy Program at Warren Easton High School. This curriculum is critical to prepare students for real-world challenges. By teaching financial literacy at a young age, students will learn to manage money, invest wisely, and ultimately build generational wealth, helping to bridge the wealth gap in underserved communities.
Coaching, Counseling & Resources for Students
Another key focus of this initiative is to provide essential academic coaching and counseling services, along with the necessary supplies and tools for students. The goal is to equip them with not only knowledge but also the emotional, psychological, and mental health support required to foster both their academic and personal development.
Impact on the Community
Investing in education has a profound impact on reducing crime rates, promoting positive thinking, and fostering a sense of empowerment. Studies show that communities with strong educational programs see a 20-30% decrease in youth crime rates as students receive constructive alternatives and the tools to succeed. Furthermore, financial literacy has been linked to improved long-term decision-making, with research showing that individuals with basic financial education are twice as likely to start their own businesses and three times more likely to save for their future.
Outcomes
Team Hope is establishing a blueprint for long-term success and sustainability for Louisiana's young people. These efforts will create a ripple effect, positively impacting not just individual students but also their families and the broader community, ultimately shaping a brighter future for future generations.
Join us in empowering our youth, NOLA! Let’s make a difference together!
Team Hope is seeking donations and raising funds to rebuild the outdated gym and locker room, which need major renovations, at Warren Easton High School in Louisiana, the oldest public school in the state with over 115 years of history. Our goal is to create an updated all-purpose sports facility where students can utilize the space for additional activities, programs, and revenue-generating initiatives.
Additionally, we are introducing the Team Hope Entrepreneurship & Financial Literacy Program for school youth. We have hand-selected students to work alongside us throughout the process. They will be actively involved and will learn how to secure contracts, negotiate effectively, and collaborate with bankers, real estate developers, and contractors, all while developing their entrepreneurship and business skills.
