Empower Western North Carolina with zero-fuel generators.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, communities in Western North Carolina are grappling with the devastation caused by the storm. Even more than two weeks later, hundreds of remote people are still without power, water and need your help now. Many are left relying on diesel generators for emergency power, which creates a vicious cycle: panic buying rushes fuel supplies before natural disasters, ultimately leading to chaos and leaving many without the resources they need during recovery. This dependence on diesel not only exacerbates environmental challenges such as air pollution but also undermines the strength of our local communities. Unfortunately, the recovery and restoration back to normal will be measured in months and years, not days.
Calamities like this are occurring more frequently in unsuspecting areas, and we can’t keep throwing diesel generators at the ongoing problem while contributing to climate change. We need more lasting, environmentally friendly and resilient solutions.
Based in Moore County, North Carolina, Modulectrix Inc. is small renewable energy manufacturer committed to supporting our fellow residents who have been affected by Hurricane Helene. We were founded in 2022 for the very purpose of mitigating the impact of these storms. We believe that a more sustainable and resilient solution is possible and we want to instill long-term resiliency in our communities, not just provide short-term relief.
To this end, we are raising non-profit funds to build and deploy renewable energy systems to communities in Western North Carolina, featuring our solar-powered generators that provide long term power and internet connectivity solutions for 10-15 years.
Why Modulectrix are a critical solution that Western NC needs now?
Free durable power from the sun. No need for lines at the gas station. Our battery and inverter blocks work like Legos and connect both structurally and electrically to make lasting semi-permanent solar arrays and right-sized generators.
Sustainability needs to be a major part of the recovery effort!
Our solar generators are powerful(5000-9600 Watts) and utilize the free renewable energy from the sun to recharge = zero emissions, no pollution, no noise, no moving parts, no maintenance, no consumables like filters or belts, no fuel costs, no doubt. Unlike gas and diesel generators, we don’t add to the carbon problem in our atmosphere. Even better, the stored energy is so large that they will work for days without the sun, they will work in stormy or smokey conditions or even at night.
100% designed, fabricated and assembled in NC for NC with USA Aluminum and USA control components.

They're just cheaper to run.
Our systems are way cheaper to run than diesel generators, without the noise, refueling trips to and toxic emissions. It's the kind of blessing western NC needs right now.
80% less fuel costs when you connect our system to a back-up gas or diesel generator:
Our generators operate at 96% efficiency and can be charged from the grid using the AC input plug or a diesel generator that can be switched on for rapid recharging of the powerful batteries. They eliminate the idle run times and low-load inefficiencies associated with fossil fuel generators. Connecting our systems to a gas or diesel generator results in up to 80% less fuel consumption, and those savings translate directly to an improved environment and more resources to help these people recover.
Enhanced Community Resilience:
By using renewable energy solutions, communities can reduce their dependence on fossil fuels and build a more resilient infrastructure capable of withstanding future disasters.
Durability and Mobility:
Ultra-rugged & weatherproof, our tough Aluminum hand-welded generators are designed to operate in harsh conditions and can be set up in minutes, transported easily in a car, providing flexibility for emergency responders.
Long Lifecycle:
With over 6,000 recharging cycles, our renewable systems have a significantly longer lifespan than traditional diesel generators. No, we don’t use Lithium Ion technology or exploit kids in Cobalt mines. Our LFP batteries have no thermal runaway, there is no toxic outgassing, they won’t catch fire or explode, they’re just awesome! Even if you fully discharge and recharge the batteries every day… they would last about 15 years.
Smart Technology:
Our user-friendly interfaces and advanced energy management features ensure optimal performance and efficient energy usage, making them easier to operate in emergency situations.
Community Support:
Each deployment of our renewable energy systems not only aids in disaster recovery but also invests in the long-term health and resiliency of our local communities.
Together, we can provide communities with a sustainable alternative that harnesses the power of green technology. By supporting our initiative, you will be directly helping these communities enhance their disaster resilience with eco-friendly and efficient power solutions. Our generators can run a CPAP machine for 140 hours straight per charge and power lights and refrigerator for 80 hours per charge—just a couple of examples of what our solar-powered generators can do in times of need.
The more funds we raise the more relief and resiliency we can deliver. Each $12,000 raised will deploy a renewable energy system in Western North Carolina at cost(MSRP of these systems with Starlink is $17,458), making a tangible impact in the recovery efforts while also promoting sustainability for the storms that will follow.
Please join us in strengthening Western North Carolina's recovery, improving community resilience, while protecting our planet for future generations.
How will we ensure the right people receive our equipment?
Working with the local people on the ground we will distribute the generators to a combination of Samaritan’s Purse, the Red Cross and Rutherford, Buncombe, McDowell, Madison, Yancy and Mitchell county emergency managers (not state or federal agencies) to determine which families are in the most need and the best fit for our long term solution. Our systems are also equipped with GPS tracking and anti-theft technology aiding in loss prevention.
What is our own contribution?
Modulectrix will provide and deliver the generators at cost, and cover the monthly subscription fees associated to Starlink internet connectivity, and T-mobile telemetry for remote monitoring and control, for the first year. This equates to roughly a $4,100 contribution per system or about 34%. More importantly, we will be on-site to provide each receiving party with the setup and training needed to ensure their generator will function well for years to come. Our 24/7 support team will also be available to mitigate any issues that may arise in the future. It is critical that these communities suffer no hidden costs or additional drama, and it is our sincere pledge to continue to help these people who have lost so much.
