Empowering Cambodian Lives Through Hairdressing Education
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
I am excited to share with you a deeply meaningful endeavor that is close to my heart. After a life-changing journey to Korea last year, where I had the opportunity to visit the orphanage I once called home. I was inspired to give back in a meaningful way. Now, I have the incredible opportunity to travel to Cambodia, with "Hair Aid Cambodia" to teach haircutting skills to victims of human trafficking and orphans transitioning out of orphanages. As an adult adoptee myself this means the world to me.
About Me:
My name is Heather Fritz, and I am a passionate hairstylist with over 40 years of experience in the hair industry. Haircutting has been my lifelong passion. As a stylist behind the chair, as well as an educator and mentor in the hair industry. I have seen firsthand the transformative power a career in hairdressing can hold. From boosting confidence to providing individuals with the skills to care for themselves, I believe that haircutting can empower lives in profound ways.
In Cambodia, many victims of human trafficking and orphaned children face immense challenges as they strive to rebuild their lives. By providing them with practical skills in haircutting, we can empower them to become self-sufficient and gain a sense of independence. Additionally, this initiative will help instill confidence and self-worth in individuals who have experienced trauma and adversity.
During my time in Cambodia, I will be partnering with local organizations and shelters to offer haircutting workshops and training sessions. These sessions will not only teach basic haircutting techniques but also focus on building confidence, communication skills, and entrepreneurship opportunities within the beauty industry. Hair Aid Cambodia (Siem Reap)
Our biggest training group happens within the street and less fortunate communities. We work with organizations that support people that live in critical poverty and simply do not have the means to earn money to survive.
We focus on working with organizations that support women in rural areas with no job opportunities who often turn to prostitution, drug selling or other unlawful acts to earn money. As well as older orphans that have exited the orphanage because they are too old to stay there. We also work with women whose only means of living is scavenging in the dump for food, clothes and water. The need for survival skills are urgent.
Hairdressing goes beyond just a skill—it is a tool for empowerment and transformation. By supporting this project, you are not only providing individuals in Cambodia with valuable skills but also helping them reclaim their dignity and independence. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.
I am reaching out to ask for your support in making this project a reality. Your generous contributions will help cover travel expenses, workshop materials, and resources needed to support the participants during and after the training sessions. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful impact and bring us one step closer to empowering lives in Cambodia.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about this important initiative. Your support means the world to me, and together, we can make a difference in the lives of individuals in Cambodia. Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your network to help me reach my goal. Together, we can empower others to care for themselves and create a brighter future.
With gratitude,
Heather Fritz
