Hello everyone, my name is Florence Nkeng and I am an indie female filmmaker with over eight years of experience working behind the scenes. For much of my career, I’ve been behind the camera, bringing other producers’ visions to life.

But in 2019, I made a bold decision to step into the director’s chair and take control of my own vision. With nothing but my personal funds, I produced and directed my debut feature film, Drowning.

Drowning was a deeply personal project—a story advocating for the fight against cancer, because as a filmmaker, my mission has always been to tell human stories that highlight the issues that affect us all. The film was well-received, winning Best Actress at the 2019 Zuma Film Festival in Nigeria, marking a milestone in my journey as a storyteller.

In 2024, I took another step forward, producing and directing a short film titled Holy Grail, which tackles the devastating impact of drug abuse on our youth and families. The response has been awesome, and I believe this story deserves a larger platform to reach even more people.

As an independent filmmaker, I’ve been self-funding every project, but to turn Holy Grail into the feature film I envision—one that dives even deeper into the heartbreaking realities of addiction—I simply can’t do it alone.
