Empowering Her Path: Helping Addisyn get to Paris

Donation protected
Addisyn (Addi) Franceschini has been a natural born champion since Day 1. Never saying no to a challenge or letting anything get in her way. But right now she needs our help to take on a once in a lifetime opportunity to bring her talent as a promising Para Athlete in Shot Put and Discus to the world stage.

Addi has been given the opportunity to compete at an International classification competition in Paris, France in late May 2025 (yes so soon!) Given this short turn around time and solely athlete funded trip we are seeking support of Addisyn’s many family and friends to help this young girl achieve her dream.

Addisyn has already achieved National standards and has actively participated in Para Development Camps. She is on track to be named to the Canadian Athlete Performance Pathway (CAPP) program in the coming year and is positioned to qualify for the 2025 World Para Athletics (WPA) World Championships team. However, a crucial step in this journey is obtaining international classification, a requirement for elite-level competition and selection to major international events.

We hope that you may be one of the ones who can say they helped her get there by supporting her financially with this first step!

Expenses for this first event are estimated to be between $4000 to $6000 which include flights, accommodations, meals and meet registration. Addisyn and her family have been seeking out other funding and sponsorship opportunities but it is unknown how long this may take. Any additional funds raised will continue to support her financial costs of being an international competing athlete.

Now, a little bit about our amazing Addisyn. Addisyn was born with a rare congenital condition called Fibular Hemiemlia, which meant her left leg fibula bone was missing at birth. At about 9 months old she underwent a symes amputation and has been wearing a prosthetic lower leg ever since.

Addisyn never ever let her difference determine what she was capable of. She participated in every sporting opportunity often blowing people away with her natural talent.

In high school her interest in track & field started at Geraldton Composite High School participating the regional track meets. But it was the spring of 2024 when her talent was recognized by her new coach at Hammerskjold High School which led to her attending OFSSA and setting a new national record and placing 1st. It was clear this girl was going places!

Every opportunity that Addi has now had to work on her skills she has taken. Recently she competed at a National event in Winnipeg where she was noticed by Athletics Canada and now here she is! Being asked to travel across the pond to prove her talents on the international stage and launch what could be a career of a lifetime.

If you know Addi and her family, you know they have been through nothing short of life changing moments. This is yet another, one that has potential to show a little girl from a small Northern Ontario town what never giving up and always believing in what you’re capable of can do.

We want to thank everyone for their support in helping Addi get to Paris in less than 2 months, every share, donation and positive words of encouragement mean the world to her!

With excitement and gratitude,

Addisyn & her family xo
