Miracle on wheels for Emylie

Emylie is an 8 year old miracle.
Diagnosed with Spina Bifida and Arnold Chiari II Malformation at birth, she wasn’t
expected to live… but with the help of 18 surgeries to date, she has.
Emylie relies on a trach, vent and feeding tube that keep her alive. The doctors told
her parents she would never be able to talk…but she has adapted and figured out a
way to speak.
Emylie continues to beat the odds and astound her doctors, caregivers and family
with her will to survive and her determination to succeed.
Emylie has a power wheelchair that is equipped to sustain her life but her family
lacks a vehicle capable of transporting it.
Consequently, Emylie’s current caregiver frequently carries her out to her own
vehicle and they decide where their imagination will take that day. Together they
pretend to go on all sorts of adventures and trips in the car --as it sits in the
driveway.
Emylie dreams of being able to go and do with her family the same things other girls
her age experience with their families.
