Support Our Community: Help Us Purchase Our Building and Preserve Our Legacy
For over 35 years, our family-owned business has been a cornerstone of the community, serving delicious soul food and creating a warm, welcoming space for everyone. Our restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it's a gathering spot where memories are made, friendships are forged, and community spirit thrives.
Unfortunately, the current owners of our building have decided to sell it to developers who plan to replace it with high-end condos that are out of reach for most of our loyal patrons. This change threatens to displace not only our business but also the local families and neighbors who depend on us. We need your help to prevent this from happening.
We are determined to buy the building and secure our place in the community for years to come. By purchasing the property, we aim to Preserve a Community Hub, Create a Community Asset, and Combat Gentrification.
Join us in this critical effort to keep our community strong and vibrant. Help us stay in business and buy back the block—just like Neighborhood Nip always envisioned.
My accolades include:
- Catering for Stevie Wonder's significant life events, including his mother’s funeral, his brothers’ baby shower, and several birthdays.
- Providing Thanksgiving dinners for Coretta Scott King on two occasions.
- Being featured in Black History Month for my contributions to the community.
- Introducing Smart & Final's new line of marinades and working with Food 4 Less to showcase their products.
- Feeding the homeless and senior citizens during the pandemic, serving four senior centers weekly.
- Celebrating the 115th birthday of Gertrude Baines, the oldest woman to vote for President Barack Obama, who passed away shortly after his victory.
Your support will help me continue my mission of community service and philanthropy by enabling the purchase of a building that will further these efforts. Thank you for your generosity and support.
