ENABLE Sierra Leone

We are a group of volunteers who have been helping amputees in Sierra Leone, West Africa since 2016. During the 90s, hundreds of adults and children lost their hands and arms to the brutality of the Civil War. Others were injured in farming incidents and road traffic accidents. Some charity organisations promised to help, but many of these amputees have been neglected and forgotten.
ENABLE Sierra Leone is a social enterprise based in London, UK (non-profile making, unincorporated association) run by Ed Choi. From 2017 to 2021, we supported a local prosthetic workshop in Makeni to produce subsidized prosthetic and orthotic solutions to hundreds of people, using traditional materials and 3D printing.
After COVID, we will focus on the following activities:
1. To build confidence and find joy after amputation, by supporting the Makeni Single Leg Football Team
2. To bring amputees and their families out of darkness, by installing solar lights
3. To support the amputees and the local communities going through hardship, by covering hospital bills and cash transfer
If you would like to fundraise for us, we would love to hear from you. Please find us on Facebook
