End of Life fund for Juan Paulo Camacho
Donation protected
It is with deep sadness that I share, our beloved Juan Paulo Camacho passed suddenly and unexpectedly, at his home on May 2nd 2020. He was 38 years old. He leaves behind his wife, Katie and daughter, Nadia. Juan was a wonderful father, caring husband, devoted brother, son, and friend. He touched the lives of those around him and he will be forever missed. Our hearts go out to Katie and Nadia and we want to help raise any funds that may help them to cover the expenses.
Juan was from Mexico City, from the neighborhood, Hermita Zaragoza “where you dance and enjoy”. I cannot think of a more appropriate home for Juan to have been from as he was always one to dance and enjoy life. His family was his world. He met and married his wife Katie in Lahaina, Hawaii, where they were both working in a local island restaurant. After the birth of their daughter, Nadia they moved back to Katie’s home state of Oregon. Here, Katie pursued her medical research work at OHSU, Juan continued to pursue his passion for culinary arts. They built a loving and warm home for their daughter. Juan loved his wife and daughter completely and without reserve. He smiled when he was with them or even when he was simply talking about them. Juan lived his life to the fullest and this past year had been a very full year. He watched Nadia celebrate her 10th birthday, welcomed a new puppy to their family on Christmas, celebrated his 11th anniversary with, as he wrote, “the woman of his dreams”. He made it to his championship game at soccer and was featured as a chef on the news. Juan touched so many lives in the meals he cooked, the games he played, the joy he spread, the giant bear hugs he gave, his joyful smile, his contagious laugh, and frequent dances.
His family was not prepared for this loss. We do not currently know the cause of his passing, or if COVID was a factor, but will update as we learn more. We would like to help Katie and Nadia now as they navigate this most difficult challenge without his support. Given the current situation with COVID, this will increase the already challenging and heartbreaking burden on his loved ones. We want to support Katie and Nadia through this even if we cannot be with them at this time. We hope to be able to provide Juan's family with the resources they so deserve and will need to honor his memory and say their last goodbyes.
Please join me in contributing to help cover the costs and expenses associated with the loss of Juan’s life, and to help Katie, a newly single mother and his daughter Nadia in the years to come. They will need all our help. No amount is too small. Thank you for your generosity.
