National Fund to #EndDiaperNeed

1 in 3 U.S. families experience diaper need.
Food stamps cannot be used to buy diapers.
Babies without clean diapers are exposed to potential health risks.
Without the daily supply of diapers required for child care, parents are unable to go to work.
COVID-19 has significantly increased diaper need across the nation and many more babies are going without these essential needs.
Together, we can help #EndDiaperNeed today.
____________
A pandemic within a pandemic.
With so many millions of U.S. families losing their jobs during this global pandemic, the consequence of not being able to afford material basic needs, such as diapers, has become readily apparent. Families are often forced to choose between purchasing diapers for their babies versus paying for other necessities such as food, rent, healthcare, and other basic needs they require to thrive.
We must address this public health crisis head on and your donation will help #EndDiaperNeed.
The New York Times states that, "Many families across the country are turning to diaper banks to meet basic needs because of pandemic-related job losses. Over 56 million people with children under 18 at home say they, or their household, has lost income since March 13, 2020, according to the most recent Household Pulse Survey from the US Census Bureau."
On average, the National Diaper Bank Network and our more than 240 member programs throughout the country, are distributing 50 percent more diapers to families in need than before Covid-19.
And the supply of donated diapers is not meeting the demand. We need your support today to help purchase more diapers so babies in need can remain healthy, and parents can access child care and go to work when it is safe to do so.
____________
The Impact.
Without clean diapers, babies are exposed to potential health risks and toxic stress.
Without clean diapers, mothers are at risk for increased maternal depression.
Without clean diapers, parents are unable to access child care, which require a daily supply of diapers.
Without clean diapers, parents miss work or school, impeding their ability to earn the necessary income to afford the basic necessities required to care for their children.
____________
Your Donation Today.
Donating to this GoFundMe page today will provide critical diaper products to babies and families in need.
A modest $18 can provide diapers for one baby for one week.
This means that a gift of $75-$100 will provide diapers for a baby for more than one month.
That's also making it possible for a parent to go to work and to send their baby to childcare for a month. It is one month where a baby's exposure to potential health risks is lessened.
Funds raised on this GoFundMe will go directly to the National Diaper Bank Network. NDBN, at its own discretion, will distribute funds raised to its Network of more than 240 diaper banks across the United States.
____________
History.
The National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) provides basic necessities required to build the strong foundations that all children, families, and individuals need to thrive and reach their full potential.
NDBN works in partnership with its Network of diaper banks, allied programs, donors, sponsors, and elected officials to #EndDiaperNeed and #EndPeriodPoverty in the United States.
What began with a small group of like-minded civic leaders who collected and gave out free diapers to struggling families in their local communities is now the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN). Recognized as the foremost authority on #DiaperNeed in America, NDBN leads a national movement to address the lack of material basic needs among children and families living in poverty.
NDBN and its more than 240 member diaper bank programs distributed more than 84 million donated diapers in 2019, pre-pandemic.
____________

As the founding sponsor of the National Diaper Bank Network, Huggies continues its support to help #EndDiaperNeed.

This year alone, Huggies will donate more than 34.8 million diapers to NDBN and its member programs, and yet more support is required to meet the unprecedented need.
