Endicott Police Officer Sean Ahern

Donation protected
Police Officer Sean Ahern of the Village of Endicott (NY) Police Department passed away suddenly on March 8, 2024, at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse as a result of complications related to acute respiratory issues. Sean is survived by his wife, Lindsay, and his four children, ages 1 to 8. Officer Ahern had planned to retire from policing in May of this year.

Officer Ahern’s current and retired colleagues from his police family have started this GoFundMe account to assist his family with any financial challenges and future expenses related to his sudden passing. It is our intent that any funds left over after these expenses be used for the future education of his children.

Sean is originally from the Rome, New York, area. He served in the United States Army beginning in September 2000 and was honorably discharged in September 2005 at the rank of sergeant. His military service included tours as an intelligence officer in both Bosnia-Herzegovina and Afghanistan. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star.

Sean joined the Endicott Police Department as a sworn officer on April 12, 2007, and served until the time of his passing. In addition to his regular duties, he served the department and community as a crisis negotiator from 2009 to 2016.

We ask that you please assist Officer Ahern’s family during this difficult time by providing what you can. No amount is too small (or too large). Please check the Endicott Police Department’s Facebook page or Web page for contact information if you have any questions about your donation.
