End-of-life costs for Mark Holman

First of all, I wanted to thank everyone, from the bottom of my heart, for your amazing generosity. Mark's family has received all of the contributions and your generosity will be used to cove cremation costs and a celebration of life in 2024. It is with the most profound sadness that I write this for Mark Holman, a beautiful and loving friend, who recently passed away from a sudden and debilitating stroke.

Mark was a lifelong homebuilder, but his efforts to build were not confined to wood and plaster. Mark was someone who built boats, cabinets, and other fine objects of art which would astound the observer with their intricacy, effort, and loving attention to detail. He also built amazing friendships in his personal and professional life.

This loving attention to detail carried over to his lifelong passions of scuba diving and hiking along the Central Coast of California. Nothing brought him more joy than putting on his backpack and vanishing into the middle of nowhere, where he could surround himself in the sounds of crashing waves and the wind rustling through the towering trees of Big Sur.

He felt the same way about scuba diving in California and, as the long-time President of the Monterey Bay Sea Otters Dive Club, he helped to share the beauty of the blue-green waters and astonishing marine life of the Pacific with hundreds of people. Indeed, Mark was, perhaps, at his happiest when he was out on the water, with his friends and family, literally immersed in the overpowering beauty of his beloved California Coast.

It is these same friends now, who have set up this gofundme page, to help cover the hospital and burial costs which are threatening to overwhelm Mark's surviving family.
