End-of-Life Expenses for Salli Squitieri

As many of you know, Salli Squitieri passed away on April 14th, 2022, after battling an unexpected health issue.

Her sudden declining health came as a shock to friends and family, especially her only child, Akia Squitieri. Her last month on this earth was spent in the Intensive Care Unit at NY Columbia – Presbyterian Hospital.

For those who knew Salli, she was a warrior, dancer, healer, mentor, teacher as well as a kind and generous friend to everyone in the theater and musical arts.

Salli instilled these life-long held values to Akia, who spent endless hours at her mom's side during her final month.

Unfortunately, due to pre-existing conditions, Salli was unable to secure life insurance, placing this unexpected burden squarely onto Akia.

Therefore, as Akia's extended family, we are raising funds to help her with the financial burden of Salli’s funeral, a celebration of life services, and all end-of-life expenses with the hopes of easing her financial and emotional burden through this difficult time.

Another unexpected cost we are anticipating, Akia will have to go to sort out her mom’s belongings, which are currently in storage on a friend’s property in Florida. As of now, we do not know what additional expenses, including unexpected medical costs, she may need to cover. Akia will need to take significant time off work to manage these affairs.

Any assistance you can give will be greatly received to help alleviate the burden on Akia.
