Endometriosis Laparoscopic Excision Surgery

Hola, My name is Carolina, and I’ve been struggling with Endometriosis for over six years.
My first symptoms began in my mid-twenties and initially only happened during my period when the pain in my abdomen was so severe that I would often throw up or faint.
A few years forward, I was hospitalized twice, and the last time I had to undergo an emergency surgery where they removed a cyst the size of a tennis ball from my ovary.
That was the moment I was diagnosed with endometriosis.
It takes 7 to 10 years to be diagnosed with endometriosis in women from the moment the first symptoms appear because of the lack of existing research, even though 1 in 10 women suffer from it worldwide.
It is considered one of the most painful conditions you can have, the pain of which can be compared to severe kidney pain or a stroke.
As time passed, I developed many more symptoms unrelated to my period. I have been dealing with chronic abdominal pain, right leg pain, back pain, bloating, sudden stabbing pains in my abdomen, bleeding between periods, migraines, nausea, dizziness, fainting and extreme fatigue.
Around a year ago, the pain in my abdomen became almost constant; these days, there is not a moment when I’m not in pain.
This disease has affected my ability to work, and my relationships and has taken a toll on my mental health.
Doctors have gaslighted me for years; I have been misled and treated horribly, sent home with the incredibly unprofessional and cruel “prescription” to go get pregnant or to remove my uterus to appease the symptoms; I have been told that I was exaggerating, or told I had nothing at all. The underfunding of research on women’s health issues is still very much a reality, which takes doctors to a place of complete obliviousness and ignorance, and allows them to dismiss ours pleads so easily.
After extensive research and contacting expert health professionals in the matter, I am now confident that my best course of action is a Laparoscopic Excision Surgery performed by doctors who actually care.
After navigating several options for surgeons, I found the right one to do my Laparoscopic Excision Surgery. A doctor, Dr. Andrea Vidali, who is financially accessible - usually, people pay 40k for this procedure since insurance doesn’t cover the costs of most women’s health issues. In the case of Endometriosis, insurances consider the LES procedure to be an “elective,” even though I believe this is my ONLY WAY to being pain-free and not be held back by this disease.
I want to live my life feeling free and capable and share it with the people I love.
Since I cannot afford this alone, I’m kindly asking for help. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and patience in reading this, and thank you to all my friends and family for supporting me every day; their love keeps me going.
