Please help Special Olympic swimmers achieve their goals to complete the DC Marathon Special Olympian Relay Race swim and make a significant impact on their lives!
For over a decade, WaveOne Open Water has provided free coaching, training, racing opportunities, and support to Special Olympians in the DMV open water community.
Your generous financial support will contribute to essential resources such as licensing fees, multiple power boats, multiple kayaks, certified safety personnel, navigation assistance, medical support, and day-of nutrition for these athletes. Your support will not only be helping them achieve their goals but also make a significant impact on their lives.
Special Olympians are the heart and soul of the open water swimming community at National Harbor and have competed in the Special Olympics World Games, the Special Olympics International, and numerous competitions throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and on the Potomac.
Every bit of support counts and we are grateful and appreciate all donations!
Suggested corporate sponsorships for equipment, personnel and other costs to hold the race and keep the athletes safe include:
- GOLD $2,000 contributes to part of the cost for multiple power boats $1,000 contributes to part of the cost for licensing fees required by Washington, D.C.
- SILVER $750 sponsors three Red Cross certified kayakers $500 sponsors one certified safety observer and medical professional on site
- BRONZE $250 sponsors required safety equipment for two athletes $100 sponsors day-of nutrition for one athlete and their family
