Enhancing Learning Conditions at Nyasubi Primary School
Hello everyone, I am collecting money to support young students in Tanzania. This topic is of great importance to me as an education student and former volunteer in Tanzania. All donations will be transferred to the African Child Comforters Organisation (ACCO) for their project "From Floor to Desk Campaign".
The African Child Comforters Organization is a non-profit entity committed to enriching the lives and educational experiences of children in Tanzania. With a mission to promote equitable access to education, ACCO aims to dismantle barriers that obstruct effective learning outcomes.
"From Floor, to Desk Campaign" is an effort by ACCO (African Child Comforters Organisation) to raise funds to avail 100 desks to Nyasubi Primary School in Mwanza, Tanzania.
Out of 1930 students enrolled, only 321 have adequate seating, while 1,609 students are left to endure uncomfortable and unfocused learning conditions by sitting on the floor.
The present scenario at Nyasubi Primary School, where over 83% of students lack proper desks, constitutes a significant impediment to effective learning. The absence of appropriate seating creates an uncomfortable environment, which detracts from students' concentration and engagement in academic activities. This situation not only undermines the immediate educational experience but also threatens to perpetuate a cycle of disadvantage in a community already grappling with economic challenges. The inability of many families to afford necessary educational resources compounds this issue, ultimately leading to diminished educational outcomes and long-term socioeconomic consequences. Thus, the problem extends beyond mere seating - it reflects broader issues of educational equity and the urgent need for actionable solutions to foster a supportive learning atmosphere.
The donations will be used to purchase the desks as well as for transport, handling and other logistical costs.
