Hope for Aaron
Donation protected
Aaron Roberts, my cousin, the younger son of my Uncle Jason and Auntie Heather Roberts, was a vibrant 14 year old from Belmont, New Hampshire. He was full of life and enjoying the local swimming area in the Winnepesaukee River with his friends on the hot summer Sunday of July 19, 2020. The boys took turns jumping off the trestle, swam back to the rocks, and went back up to jump again and again. The locals have been doing this here for decades. After one of the jumps, Aaron didn’t come up. His friends found him under the water and pulled him to shore. He ultimately was life-flighted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and spent 2 1/2 days on life support on the Pediatric ICU. I was trying to think of a way to help my family, knowing the financial press this would be to them, so I started this GoFundMe with an initial goal of $2000. The outpouring of love and support from all over the world has surpassed our wildest expectations. Aaron never recovered his brain function and when the life support was withdrawn on Tuesday night Aaron passed away in the arms of his father, my Uncle Jason, and his mother, my Auntie Heather, with other family close by. These funds contributed by you all for this tragedy will help to cover some of the unknown but certainly high costs of the helicopter transport, medical bills, casket, funeral, and burial plot that Jason and Heather will have to contend with on top of the grief of losing Aaron. The withdrawal plan is for Heather to access the funds into her personal bank account to apply to funeral costs and medical bills as each immediate need arises.
Again, THANK YOU everyone so very much from the bottom of our hearts for all of your loving support, prayers, and generosity during this tragic hardship.
