Eniid's Recovery from Cancer
Donation protected
Eniid Goodman is a mother, a recording and visual artist, and an art teacher for kids. Eniid and her husband, Tiki (Chris) Tie, are parents to five children, age 14 to 24. They live on their organic farm in Wakefield, Québec, and have been part of that vibrant community for years. Eniid has dedicated her recording career to honouring and sharing the legacy of Joni Mitchell.
In March of this year, Eniid found a lump in her neck and sought medical attention right away. After many tests, she was diagnosed with Squamous cell throat and neck cancer. This diagnosis was devastating to this 44 Year old mother and artist. Since then, she has experienced a lot of pain, has little energy and has focused on getting the best options for treatments.
Eniid will undergo treatment in Montreal at the Jewish Hospital. This means that she, along with her husband, will move to Montreal for the duration of the treatment, which is expected to last for six weeks. Eniid will receive daily radiation for five days, as well as one round of chemo every week. The doctors are also installing a feeding tube directly into her stomach in case her throat is too sore from the radiation to eat. She has already lost a considerable amount of weight so the doctors want to ensure she keeps her strength up while receiving her treatments and the long recovery afterwards. Tiki will be there to take care of her and ensure support through the treatments. This is very hard for both of them, as they will be away from their children, their home, their animals and their community.
We expect she will need support for the next 4 to 6 months, the likely duration of her treatment and recovery process.
Please help
We are asking you to support Eniid as she faces one of the greatest challenges of her life. Please help raise $35,000 to cover the costs of living in Montreal during the six weeks of the treatment, health modalities e.g. acupuncture, Rieke, cranio-sacral therapy, to name a few, which have already considerably helped ease her pain. In addition, both are self-employed and she has been unable to work since the diagnosis. Tiki had to significantly reduce his working hours to take care of her and will not be able to work once in Montreal.
Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated! As she’s well known in the Wakefield area, please help spread the word to reach all those who would love to support her. As she’s also well known in the music community in different parts of the world, it would be greatly appreciated if anyone could spread the word there as well!
Thank you so much for your help!
