Enka Sign Fund for Michael Sanders

To honor the memory of former Enka-Candler Business Association's President, Michael J. Sanders who died on April 20, 2017, The Enka-Candler Business Association has set up the "Enka-Candler Welcome Sign & Community Beautification Fund".

Michael worked tirelessly to revive this Organization and served his community with a tremendous amount of spirit and pride.  He tirelessly fundraised for causes that benefited our community including the building of this sign which was destroyed by an uninsured driver on January 3rd, 2015.  We hope to raise enough funds to build back the sign adding a new plaque dedicating its restoration in honor of Michael Sanders. 

Please join us in recognizing his contribution to our community and honor his memory by donating to this fund.  Any additional funds donated above the needs for sign restoration will be donated to Asheville Greenworks, another local organization that Michael loved, for the beatification of Candler. 

We are deeply saddened by this incredible loss as are many in the Candler Community. Michael loved Candler and Candler loved him. Let's help bring back the sign that became the symbol of his dedication to our community so that future generations will remember his contribution to our community.
