Enlisted Trying to Get Into A Country Club
Tax deductible
I recently looked into trying get into the Army Navy Country club so I could take my daughter to the pool. When I went to apply I discovered something which shocked me. The initiation fees for a O-1 (Ensign) are $1200…. For a O-10 (Admiral or General) are $24,900. However, for an Active Duty Enlisted member of the armed services the fees are $77,700.
I doubt I’ll ever be saving up 2 years wages in order to join a country club just to enjoy the pool and golf course along side my fellow service members. However, I can do this, and donate every penny to an Enlisted focused charity.
I’ll take my daughter to the YMCA instead.
