Ensure Nicole Elliott's Respectful Cremation
Donation protected
Hi,
my mother, Nicole Elliott, passed away the evening of 11/9/24.
I have been unable to gain access to her apartment, and my nephew told the police he lives there, even though he doesn’t legally, so I can gain any access to her files anytime soon. In order to get the death certificate, I need to choose the funeral home that will handle things for me as legal next of kin.
a basic cremation, with no service and a wood box for her ashes, is $1995.00. I have to pay them and sign forms before they can pick up her body from the coroner. The coroner is telling me I have a couple days to make these choices.
If anyone can help, please do. This is my first go fund me, so I don’t know exactly how it works, but it did say something about a 2.9% fee as well as a small fee per donation.
I also don’t know what legalities will be involved to gain access to her apartment or what will become of her basic belonging and sentimental family photos as well as my deceased brothers urn that is in her apartment.
I definitely can’t hire a lawyers for all of this and, I believe, if she does have life ins, that my eldest brothers youngest child is the beneficiary for it. It’s incredibly frustrating to not even be able to know what her exact wishes were, and every ounce of it is emotional.
I would think that boy/man would be responsible financially, but I don’t know.
anyway, I don’t want mom sitting in a freezer or tossed with the unclaimed.
A basic cremation would be a great place to start.
I
Thank you
