Ensure Safe Routes for Students Like Dresden and Recovery.

Donation protected
I’m reaching out with an urgent plea on behalf of my brother, Ty Kurtz, and my sister-in-law, Jackie Wilson. On Tuesday, October 9th, my 12-year-old nephew Dresden was struck by a car while crossing the street after school. He’s incredibly brave and is doing his best to recover, but he’s facing multiple broken bones and has already undergone surgery.

My brother and sister-in-law are now forced to take legal action against the school district. Their policy states that if you live within a 3-mile radius of the school, transportation isn’t provided due to funding issues. This leaves vulnerable students, like Dresden, without safe options for getting home—many are left to navigate public transit on their own. Change needs to be made to ensure this does not happen again.

We urgently need your support to help cover legal fees and living expenses as they both miss work during this challenging time. Every contribution makes a difference in ensuring that this kind of tragedy doesn’t happen again and that ALL students can return home safely.

Thank you for your compassion and support.
