Ensure Stability for Jimmy Hall's Family During Recovery
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Lindsey Hall. My husband Jimmy was hospitalized on Monday, October 14th for a gallbladder stone in his bile duct. He was unable to keep food down without vomiting and his Pancreas was inflamed. Both the hospital he was in, and Penn in Philly were unable to retrieve the stone when they performed ERCP procedures. We were told Penn was the best of the best and they transported him there only for us to be let down again with no relief or retrieval. The doctors believe his body passed the stone on Sunday, October 20th. When they did another MRI to check on the stone on Monday, October 21st, they found it was gone, however they noticed an issue with the tail end of his Pancreas and transported him back to Penn in Philly to have an Endoscopic Ultrasound on Wednesday, October 23rd. He was released from CCH that evening.
We were told he was fine to go home and that he would need a surgery done at Penn. When we went to meet the surgeon on Thursday, October 31st we were told that he would need a Distal Pancreatectomy. With the tail end of his Pancreas being dead (after his 2009/2010 Pancreatitis) it is creating a "plumbing problem" as the surgeon described. This issue they believe is from the previous Pancreatitis however this can cause Pancreatic Cancer, so it is imperative that he has it removed. They will biopsy it to be sure once it is removed. To remove the tail end of the Pancreas they also need to remove his Spleen as they are connected. They will also be removing his Gallbladder at the time due to all of the issues he experienced from that one stone. He is scheduled for surgery on December 3rd. He will likely be in the hospital for 7 days before he can come home. The hospital is in Philly and driving back and forth into the city to visit him from home will also take extra funds for gas.
Unfortunately he does not have any short term disability and after making tons of phone calls I have discovered that we don't have any other way to cover our basic living expenses while he is out of work for *atleast* 4 weeks, possibly 6 weeks (according to the post op info we were given). He is our main source of income provider and I will need to be home to care for him once he comes home from the hospital. We have two young boys and just want to make sure they continue to have food on the table, a roof over their heads and we can focus on Jimmy's recovery. I am not one to ask for money from strangers but we are just in a really bad situation right now. Any donations are absolutely appreciated as well as prayers, because we know God will also be there through this with us. Thank you so much for reading and considering our family. God bless!
