Ensz Family Support

Life just got a bit more exciting for the Ensz family! Today, at 30 weeks and 3 days pregnant, my water broke. After being admitted to labor and delivery we (Drew and I) realized that our new baby was not only going to be coming early but will need a lot of extra care. The doctors' have admitted me to the hospital until further notice (baby's birth) in an effort to help our little one grow as big and strong as possible before they enter the world.

We decided to share this fundraiser as many have asked how they can help. I know from my experience as a registered nurse that a preemie as young as 30 - 34 weeks gestation requires lots of care. We are looking at an extended NICU stay, more time away from work, and time to attend important appointments with specialists after discharge, etc. As many of you know, our path to parenthood started with a sweet NICU graduate and while we are prepared for this baby's care, we are also trying to be realistic.

We have planned for this new little one for quite a while, but we did not consider an extended stay for me or a long NICU stay for our new family member.

We are hoping that through this fundraiser that I will be able to cover the extra month of salary (since it will be unpaid leave), health insurance costs that will come out of pocket, medical expenses for our newborn, and some extra needs that we will have to make sure that our preemie is safe and secure when they are allowed to come home.
