Marypaz's Environmental Project

Last year because of your support I was able to travel to the Dominican Republic to work with the DREAM  project to develop my leadership skills and educate young children about their environment, creating more awareness in their lives about their role in taking care of the planet. 

This experience was life-changing for me. This summer, I have been asked to lead high school students in a similar project in Costa Rica, this project will have a focus on environmentalism and reforestation efforts. 

Currently, non-white, low-income students make up less than 30% of those who have the opportunity to travel abroad (U.S. News and World Report). Missed opportunities like studying abroad can translate into a dearth of students of color in international careers and leadership positions-the positions that need transformative leaders more than ever.

Please help me create a change for high school students in the Bay Area, while helping me continue to learn to be a transformative leader.
