QUEM SOMOS:

A PROBAAL é uma Associação para a defesa do Ambiente na região do Sotavento Algarvio. Desde o ano 2000 que estamos envolvidos na proteção de terrenos selvagens com elevados valores ecológicos. Já designada como Reserva Ecológica, vários projectos perigosos ameaçaram este lugar especial com a destruição. Felizmente têm sido travados, incluindo o mais recente em 2023.

WHO WE ARE:

PROBAAL is an Association for the defence of the Environment in the Eastern Algarve region of PORTUGAL. Since the year 2000 we have been involved in the protection of wild land with high ecologial values. Already designated as Ecological Reserve land, never the less, several dangerours projects have threatned this special place with desturction. Luckily they have been stopped, including the most recent in 2023.

AS NOSSAS HISTÓRIAS DE SUCESSO

Durante os últimos 24 anos, estivemos envolvidos na proteção de terrenos contra uma série de projectos inadequados; 2 pedreiras e uma grande central de energia solar numa área, e um projeto de turbinas eólicas e um mastro telefónico na localidade.

OUR SUCCESS STORIES

During the pervious 24 years we have been involved with the protection of land from a number of inappropriate projects; 2 quarries and a large solar power plant from one area, and a wind turbines project and phone mast in the locality.

O NOSSO FOCO AGORA

A preservação futura do terreno passa por assegurar o mais alto nível de proteção e é para este trabalho que estamos a angariar fundos. A área precisa de ser mapeada para espécies raras e protegidas de plantas e animais e habitats protegidos. Este trabalho pormenorizado envolverá especialistas em muitos domínios, para que as espécies possam ser registadas oficialmente junto das autoridades competentes. Esperamos que se sinta motivado a apoiar este projeto.

OUR FOCUS NOW

The future preservation of the land lies in securing the highest level of protection and this is the work we are raising funds to accomplish. The area needs to be mapped for rare and protected species of plant and animals and protected habitats. This detailed work will involve experts in many fields, so that the species can be officialy registered with the relevant authorities. We hope you will feel drawn to support this endeavour.

- Realização de pesquisas sobre valores naturais.

- Documentação e cartografia de espécies.

- Envolvimento da comunidade.

- Fazer lobby junto das agências relativamente ao estatuto de proteção.
