Help Rosa Stay by Enzo’s Side as He Fights for His Life
Donation protected
Our dear friend Enzo is currently in intensive care after a series of medical emergencies.
On 16th of November, Enzo who lives in Ramsgate in Kent, was rushed to a local hospital with severe chest pains. Doctors discovered a damage to his vena aorta, requiring immediate intervention and he was rushed to St. Thomas' Hospital in London. He underwent a lengthy surgery which was successful but his body needed significant support to recover.
Enzo's Medical Journey So Far
- 16th of November: Emergency transfer to St. Thomas' Hospital for immediate surgery
- Post-Surgery: Enzo's organs required maximum support, particularly his lungs. He was sedated and paralysed to help his body cope while battling a severe chest infection
- 25th of November: Doctors placed Enzo on an ECMO machine (life support) as a last resort to stabilise his condition
- 28th of November: A tracheostomy was performed
- 4th of December: Enzo underwent emergency surgery, losing part of his large bowel and now uses a stoma bag
- 7th of December: Doctors successfully removed the ECMO machine (life support), a sign of improvement
They are gradually reducing his sedation and working on waking him up. The next steps are to focus on removing fluids, weaning him off the ventilator and beginning his long journey to recovery, which will include regaining mobility, speech and feeding abilities.
Enzo’s recovery will take months, with no guarantees. Doctors are closely monitoring his progress day by day.
Why We Need Your Help
When Enzo was taken ill, the family was located in Ramsgate (the coast of Kent) but Enzo is currently in London at St Thomas' Hospital. Throughout this ordeal, Rosa, his devoted wife has been by his side in London, unable to work and facing mounting expenses. Rosa is self employed and had to give up all her jobs after Enzo was rushed to London.
Staying near the hospital is critical for Enzo’s recovery but the financial burden of living in hotels is overwhelming. Rosa’s hotel, transportation and daily living expenses are quickly adding up and without her regular income, the family is struggling to cope.
We aim to raise £6,500 to help Rosa cover her accommodation and aid with daily living costs and any medical expenses to support the family during this challenging time.
Breakdown of Expenses
- Accommodation: £5,000 for Rosa's stay near the hospital (approx. 66 days)
- Daily Living Costs: £1,000 for meals and transportation
- Medical Expenses: £500 for additional healthcare needs
