Enzyme Replacement Therapy for Melanie

We are currently fundraising for little Melanie, who was recently shown to have a 0% LAL (Lysosomal Acid Lipase) function in her liver. Without this enzyme, her body can not properly break down certain fats and sugars, causing them to store in her liver and other important organs. This disease is chronic and progressive, so without treatment, is fatal.

The only known treatment for this condition is enzyme replacement therapy, which takes a month to get approved and covered by insurance. With this being the case, the first month of treatment must be paid out of pocket, or the treatment will have to be delayed.

Given her failure to thrive over the last few months, getting treatment ASAP is the only way to prevent further irreversible damage to her liver. Anything helps.
