Ephemerisle 2024 Big Booty Island Infrastructure

Another glorious year awaits us on the Delta! But it can’t happen without your help. BBI is kindly asking for your donations to help us keep the big island alive.

A whole lotta blood, sweat, and love goes into Ephemerisle every year! Our experiences at Ephemerisle linger in our hearts and often on our "next year's Ephemerisle Shopping List" for months. A small smile crosses my face when I think of that sunset on the rooftop in the quiet of the Delta OR that excellent DJ set at 3 am!

But really, it takes a ton of planning, time, and energy given generously by a beautiful community so we can all enjoy each other for a magical week in the SF Delta! All the dis-organizers of all the islands have already figured out ways to bring everything necessary for the event. Barges are being cleaned, docks are being repaired, pump outs are being arranged, DJs are packing their headphones, and camping spots are being sold! There is no time like the present to ask everyone who enjoys this small slice of paradise to help lessen the burden on the people who have been making it happen for so long!

Use of funds:

1. Gas money

Fuel to bring out the BIG infrastructure, including docks. Fuel for powering all the things that need power! This money goes to keep generators running and push boats pushing.

2. Infrastructure repairs

Our docks are in dire need of repair. Build crew is on it! But supplies aren't cheap.

3. Porta-a-Potties

We need them. Enough said.

4. Incidentals

We only think of these things once we are in the middle of the water. This time, we will run back and get them!

5. Medical

We are looking into options for bringing a medic / nurse to serve the broader event. This is funding-dependent.

PS: I have volunteered to run the GoFundMe this year to take some load off Heidi and locals who do a ton of work making the big infrastructure happen. These funds are for core infrastructure needs only and won't be used for for private boat gas or "fun" stuff like sound system, etc. - that stuff is all covered by us privately and nothing I bring personally utilizes these funds.
