Hello Friends. As most of you know I have been recently diagnosed with Triple Negative, Grade 3, Stage 3 Breast Cancer. This form of Breast Cancer is rare (10 percent) and aggressive form of Breast Cancer. I am also BRCA 1 positive. This means I have a specific genetic gene mutation that increases metastasis/reoccurring of the Cancer by 90 percent.
What does this mean? We have to be even more aggressive when treating the Cancer. We will be doing 2 types of chemo and immunotherapy weekly in Duluth (3 hours away) for 12 weeks, followed by another 2 types of chemo and immunotherapy for 12 weeks weekly. Hopefully in March I will be able to receive a double mastectomy, hysterectomy, etc. Followed by daily radiation, and more chemo. If all goes to plan I will continue to have to do immunotherapy and switch to oral chemo the following year. Yes. It is A LOT. Ary and I (my daughter) have been so appreciative of everyone's support. I don't know where I would be without my village.
Some of you may know I've struggled with Pseudo-Tumor Cerebri for years now. Between the medications for that and the Chemo, my liver and brain have not been healing. Last week we had to forgo one of the immunotherapies in hopes my body could recover with the chemos.
