Life saving Epilepsy devices
Donation protected
Hi, my 23 year old was diagnosed with Epilepsy in January. He wants to be able to live on his own but that isn’t possible because he needs some alarms and warning aids. He has had two seizures in the past 12 hours. The first one he actually stopped breathing. He just wants to
be a normal lad and be independent. A bed alarm will alert people in the adjacent flat, the watch will alert me, four pillows and mattress topper will prevent suffocation A years subscription to the wrist alarm service is £199, so we’d also like to have that in place if we raise enough. But the priority is getting the devices listed first. If you can help in anyway we would be really grateful!
This afternoon he continued to have mini seizures all afternoon which was exhausting and frustrating. Receipts will be shown once we’ve purchased the items. I can also add images if people require.
update: my son is in hospital and has been since Saturday as he wasn’t right cognitively and kept getting hiccups. Since the second seizure he also had pain in his upper back. It turns out the hiccups were seizures and he fractured his spine during one of the seizures. Today he has a lot of facial twitching. We are currently waiting for an mri to see how bad the fracture is and to check his brain for any damage. Cognitively he’s improving but is still not right. I am so grateful for the donations we have received so far. Thank you
I have now ordered the watch!
UPDATE: We have had the watch for a few weeks now and it is working really well. We have had a couple of false alarms with it, but it’s good to know it works. We also raised enough for two Pillows,
We still need more donations to get a mattress topper that has holes in it, a years subscription for the watch (£200) and the most important bed alarm that will alert anyone in an adjoining flat or room.
I really appreciate all the help we have had so far.
The doctors have told Jamie he more than likely has Osteoporosis, at 23 this is quite upsetting. He has a scan on the 25th which will either confirm the doctors suspicions or give him the all clear
