Skinner family assistance fund

My friends Donna and Everett Skinner are facing some difficult times and I am hoping to help ease their minds and help them focus on recovery.  Donna recently suffered from a devastating fall and severely injured herself.  She was taken to Brigham and Woman's hospital in Boston where she had Anterior Cervical Discectomy & Fusion (ACDF) surgery.  Basically that means the nuerosurgeons operated on her spine and removed the injured disc that was ruptured to relieve the pressure on her spinal cord.  When Donna fell she hit her head in a way that it compressed the spinal cord and she lost all use of her arms and legs.  She fractured a vertebrae, fractured her nose,  and had ligament damage to the spine as well.  Donna is well known in Falmouth as the asst. Children's librarian at Falmouth Public Library and has her own Zumba dance business as well.  Her husband Everett works at the Conference table restaurant in Falmouth and has been home taking care of his wife around the clock.   Everett has recently missed work himself and was very sick with cardiac related issues.  He has a long history with heart failure and he is treating it well feeling much better.  It will be a long recovery for Donna and we hope she will fully recover.   I know the Skinners would be the first ones to help any of us given different circumstances.   Donna has always shared her love with not only the children and families of Falmouth but to everyone surrounding her.  My hope is that we can help to let her recover and not have the added stress of worrying about keeping up.
