The Wiggins family

Update as of 4/3/23: Trey went home from the nicu after 103 days, was home for 5, on day 6 was back in the hospital. He is now almost 5 months and still in the nicu. Treys waiting to hear from the doctors about the large hole in his heart and when his open heart surgery will be. They think he got an infection from the hole in his heart causing him to pump too much blood into his lungs, which then put him back on the ventilator. He also is awaiting his jaw surgery. His jaw on the left side is completely fused togegher, which means he can’t open, take a bottle, fees by mouth, swallow, and he is deaf in that ear. He will need multiple jaw surgeries and eventually cochlear implants to hear. He will need nasal surgery after to open up his nasal passages so he can smell/breathe. Right now they are just waiting in the nicu, trying to wean Trey off the vent to get him back to his baseline.

This go fund me is for my sister and brother in law who are new parents. Sense Ashton and Shannon never reach out for help, I figured this is the least I could do for them. If you haven’t followed their story, their son is in the nicu going on 69 days and counting. It has been a hard, draining but also amazing journey. With Trey still in the nicu with no discharge date yet , I’m sure you can imagine the bills are high. Once Trey does come home, he will have a trach and a feeding tube and Ashton will be his full time caregiver. She unfortunately had to quit her job and lose her and treys insurance. Ashton is working on getting disability for Trey but that can take up to months to qualify. Hospital and home bills with only one income, Ashton and Shannon could really use our help from those who can offer it. If you’re able to contribute anything at all to lift a little bit of weight off of their shoulders I know they would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
