Visit son at orphanage
Donation protected
After nearly 3 years into the international adoption process, we finally got to meet our son in July 2015. For 15 days, our son cried every day when we had to hand him back to the nanny and leave the orphanage where he has lived since an infant. On the final day, my husband had to literally pry him from his body to return him. Heartbreaking doesn't begin to express the pain we felt at having to leave our son behind. Our son was abandoned on the streets of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and even though you can't see his face in the picture (we're not allowed to show his face until he legally has our last name), trust me when I say he is absolutely adorable. There are many steps of the adoption process yet to be completed, and we have no idea when we'll get to see him again. We miss our son so much and long to see his beautiful smile again, to hear his laughter, and to hold him in our arms once again. In October he turns 4, and while we will miss yet another birthday, we would like to visit him over Thanksgiving; only with all the ongoing adoption expenses, we don't have the money. We are seeking to raise $3,000, which would cover most of the travel costs (2 plane tickets, accomodations, driver, translator, etc.) so that we can visit our son and let him know he does has a family and he has not been abandoned. Thank you and many blessings to you.
