Funeral and Burial for John Coker

Donation protected
Thanksgiving is a day to rejoyce with Family. Everyone gets together and gives thanks to those around you and those you love. Thanksgiving has always been a tough holiday for the entire Coker family. Seven years ago to the day they lost their beloved Brother/Uncle/Father/Son "Joey Coker"on Thanksgiving morning.  Today is a very Devistating day for the entire Coker family. Yesterday morning on Thanksgiving day we received a devistating phone call from Heather's 82 year old grandmother that she couldn't get John to wake up. Heather and I called 911 and tried getting her to calm down. "Tammy and Shawn", Heather's mother and brother left to go make sure everything was ok. Shorty after they arrived the paramedics ask Shawn who he was. Shawn replied."Thats my dad is everything ok"?The paramedics said No bud he is gone. In a state of shock Shawn grabbed his mother and broke the horrible news that her Husband,Best Friend, and love of her life was gone. Heather called Shawn to find out if everything was ok. When Shawn told heather the devistating truth she fell apart and kept saying "My daddy". "What am I gonna do". "My daddy is gone", There was nothing I could do but hold her as tight as I could and tell her I was here for her. This has been such a shock to the entire family, Everyone close to John and to those who knew him. John was the cargiver of his 82 year old mother Kathy coker and had been since she lost her husband in the same home 15 years ago and her son "Joey Coker" in the same home 7 years ago to the day. he stood by her side through the loss of her husband and her second youngest son. and now on the same holiday John was gone. John was adored by his grandchildren. That was Their "Poppy John" or Poppy J" When he wasn't by his mothers side he was here with his 3 grand daughters Ryleigh,Makenna, and Kilee. Or going on deer rides with his wife Tammy. John was a very loving person who's life was unexpectedly cut too short. It's so painful to see these babies looking around for him saying "Poppy?" John was a Union concrete finisher who had suffered a back injury and was awaiting disabiltiy. He had no insurance to help with funeral cost. His mother lives on a fixed income and has no means of funding the service John deserves. All members of the family have put forth what little they can. It's still not close to enough. They could use all the help possible. John was the type of man that would give you the shirt off of his back and did so much for everyone around him. The family just wants to help give him a service and fullfill the wishes of being laid to rest next to his baby brother "Joey". Any and all Donations will be greatly appreciated and help make John's final wishes possible. It will also make everyone paying their last respects possible. Heather,Shawn,Tammy and the Coker family would like to give a special thanks to all those who help make his fianl wishes possible and making a memorable service possible for his family and friends to mourn thier loss and celebrate his life. Always remember to cherish life and those you love. Don't hesitate to call your loved ones just to say I love you. We all want to give thanks to everyone who was a part of John's life. We will keep everyone posted on services as soon as funding is established. Thank you all for your donations and support during this diffucult time. Thank you so much and God Bless you all!!!
