Bella's cruciate ligament surgery

Hi All, our names are Lucy, Matt & Bella and we're trying to raise funds of £7,000 to cover the costs of Bella having cruciate ligament surgery on both of her rear legs.

We rehomed Bella on the 12th April 2024 after the previous owner could no longer take care of her due to personal reasons. We couldn't wait to give her the best life possible and welcome her into her forever home.

We were informed that she had no previous medical history issues and that she was fit and healthy.

After we got her, we got insurance straight away and then got her into her first check up on the Monday, to which the vets confirmed she was healthy and nothing out of the ordinary etc.

About 3 weeks later she was playing in the garden and started limping on her left leg, so we took her into the vets and got told she needs to rest and if she doesn't get better come back for xrays...but after a few days rest she was back to normal with no signs of any pain or issues.

Fast forward to just over 2 weeks ago (10th August 2024) and she was really struggling to walk on her right leg, so we took her into the vets and got told to rest and then come back the following week, to which we did but she was still struggling. After another veterinary exam, the vet informed us that there was play in her right knee which meant her cruciate ligament had gone, he also then explained that her left knee wasn't as good as what it should be either, so he advised we would need the right leg done and then the left leg.

We got in touch with a fantastic surgery called "Blaise" in birmginham. To our shock when going though the medical stuff for the insurance check, the previous owner had taken her into their vets for her left leg nearly 2 years prior for a limp, but didn't inform us. This has now made the insurance company decline medical care due to it being a 'pre exisiting injury'.

So we've decided to set up a gofundme page to help us raise as much possible for Bella, so she gets the help and life that she really does deserve.
