Equipping koala rescue van
Our koalas are threatened by land clearing, disease, car strikes and dog attacks. I'm regularly rescuing, releasing, monitoring and transporting koalas.
I do this as a volunteer based in Brisbane via Queensland Koala Society (which I founded last year). I was lucky enough to receive a grant for a rescue vehicle. I now need to equip this vehicle so that I can do my best for these vulnerable creatures.
I need to purchase the following:
- rescue poles x 3
- flagging poles
- halos and nets for the poles
-torches and headlamps
- trap
- cages for transportation
- blankets and towels
- tool kit
- first aid kit
- GPS (hand-held)
- loppers
- log book
- awning
- funnel (holds equipment)
- roof racks
- binoculars
I'm extremely grateful for every dollar received. It makes a huge difference to the lives of our precious koalas.
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or if you know about an at-risk koala!
