Equip the House for Judy

Hi, my name is Tanya Colon.
Let me first say that I am not one to create online fundraisers. I am not one to ask for help, but this is not help for me, this is help for my special aunt, Judy Morris.
Aunt Judy never had her own children, but she loved on and took care of all her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews like her own. And in the same way she takes care of her family, she has always taken care of her friends, in the same way. Her heart is as big as the entire world.
Anyone who knows Judy knows she puts others before herself. She would never ask for help, but she truly needs it right now. So, I am asking for help.
On Monday, August 21st, my mom, Pat and uncle, Rick went to check on Aunt Judy because she didn't sound right. She had fallen the Friday before so they thought she could have had a concussion.
When they arrived, she was having stroke symptoms, so they took her to the ER.
What transpired in the next twenty-four hours was the worst nightmare any person and family could have.
She hadn't had a stroke, nor did she have a concussion. She had undiagnosed breast cancer that had metastasized to her brain.
Since that diagnosis, she was moved from a hospital in Forest City, closest to her home to a large hospital in Charlotte, where me, my mom (Pat) and family live. She has undergone surgery to remove the tumor from her brain and will have radiation in the next day or so.
She has lost the use of her left side and has been in a rehab center for the past week.
The rehab center team has let my mom know she will be sent home most likely in the next two weeks or so. She will most likely still be immobile with no use of her left side.
She basically went from someone who goes hiking, lives alone in the mountains to someone who is unable to walk and will need around the clock care.
Because of this, she will live with my mom, her sister.
My mom's home is not equipped for the type of care she will need. She needs a stair chair lift, a roll in shower and modifications to the bathroom to allow room for the wheelchair to enter and then some. The goal set for this fundraiser is a small portion of the total cost of the items she needs. All other monies have been financed by my mom who is on a fixed income herself.
I truly hope we can get some assistance to lessen this financial burden.
PS - this is just the first step of her journey. Docs have to take care of the brain before they can work on her breast cancer.
Thanks, in advance for your generosity.
