Erase SMSD School Lunch Debt
The Shawnee Mission School District's new lunch policy guarantees all students a full meal regardless of their lunch account balances. Unfortunately negative account balances have grown significantly.
Of course some of debt is from families that can pay, but just haven't yet. This was something simple that could help the families that do need it.
The story states that a school lunch costs up to $2.80. Let's cover the cost of 10,000 lunches.
All funds collected will be donated to the Shawnee Mission Education Foundation and designated specifically for the school lunch debt. The funds will then be transferred from the Foundation via Kimberly Hinkle to the Shawnee Mission School District.
