Grant Elementary School Lunch Debt

Hello everyone, this is Grandma Pat and I’ve started this GoFundMe campaign to pay off Grant Elementary School’s lunch debt! This campaign is very close to my heart. My siblings and I grew up during the depression and often ate very little during lunch due to our families tight finances. Having not been able to afford lunch, I hope that my campaign will prevent the shame I once felt as a child.

I was inspired by Jeff Lew’s GoFundMe Campaign that successfully raised $50,000 on behalf of the Seattle School District to Erase School Lunch Debt. The money raised for my campaign will be used for Grant Elementary School’s lunch debt in the LA Unified School District. All funds raised will go directly to the school district.

I’m a firm believer in being the change you want to see in the world. Anyone who knows me knows that my biggest goal in life has and will always be to give to others. I hope that my campaign impacts and inspires others who are able, to support those in need or create their own fundraisers.

This campaign will be done in memory of my late husband Al Kubera, who had an incredibly large heart.  I know he would have donated the full amount of my goal the minute after it launched. I’m very grateful to be working with Go Fund Me to support the voices of our future.
