Shari Would Love to Study Abroad!

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Shari Gayle, and I have a great opportunity that I would love to embark on!

As we all may agree, traveling opens the mind and the heart. I've always longed to see other parts of the world, and grow an appreciaton for people, cultures, and the beauty of the Earth that we live on. Plus, I get to enjoy this experience with friends and students who have the same passion that I do. I am currently a full-time student, studying for my Masters in Interior Architecture at Florida International University. My school offers a Study Abroad Program named "Design at Sea" that allows students to travel by cruise while gaining more experience in our studies. This opportunity is offered every year, but I've missed it once already. My last year is next year, which is my thesis, so I would love to take advantage of this program before its too late.

The following are details about the program:
Who:
Students from the Interior Architecture Program and the Hospitality and Management Program will go on the cruise as a group, along with faculty members from the same programs.

What/Where:
This Study Abroad Program is known as "Design at Sea", and this year students will be traveling on Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Seas to Norfolk, Virginia, Cork, Ireland, Cherbourgh, France, and Bruges, Belgium. Students will have to travel to Tampa, Fl to get on the cruise, and then fly back from Belgium to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. The transportation fee up to Tampa is covered, but the plane ticket back, from Belgium, is not.

Note: The cruise stops in England, but the program has made accomodations for us to stop in Belgium. So as a group, we will not continue on to England.

When:
The trip is from May 4th, 2015 - May 17th, 2015
- 1st Payment of $575.00 (pay deposit + study abroad fee) is due on   October 1st, 2014
-
2nd Payment of $1,0788.00 is due on February 1st, 2015
- Tuition:
We are taking two classes while on the cruise, IND 5948 (Interior Architecture: Graduate Internship), and IND 5993 (Interior Architecture: Travel, Culture, and Design). Each class is 3 credits and are $441.49 per credit, making the total tuition $2,648.94

How:
Here is where I really need help! So far my total for the cruise is $1,653.00 (This includes: ground transportation to Tampa, 14-night Trans-Atlantic cruise, inside cabin with double occupancy, meals, taxes, gratuities, one-night accommodation and dinner in Bruges, Belgium, and the $175.00 Study Abroad Fee). My tuition for the two classes (which are required) is $2,648.94. My plane ticket back to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale ranges from $800.00 - $1300.00. I also have to pay for food, activities, and transportation for when we're off the ship, which is about $1,000.00. This rounds up to $6,600.00 (more than the $6,000.00 that I posted), but I am doing my best to save and retain scholarships from FIU.

I will keep this page updated if I recieve any more information about this program. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

This will be my first time traveling outside of the Western Hemisphere. It'll also be my first Study Abroad Program. I am passionate about what I do, and I will take any opportunity that will allow me to grow, as a person, but also as a designer. This is an experience that I would love take advantage of!
