Eric Patrick Aguiar passed away on Thursday September 17th, 2020. Shortly before midnight on Wednesday September 17th, Eric was shot in the parking lot of Sonora High School and succumbed to his injuries in the early morning of Thursday September 17th.
Born and raised in Sonora California, Eric was as Sonora homegrown as you can get and will be deeply missed not only by his loved ones but by the community as a whole.
Eric was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend. Anyone who knew Eric knew him as a happy spirit who would give up everything he had for whomever needed it. Eric walked around with a smile that would light up a room, a laugh that was contagious, and a heart bigger than the sky itself.
Just as any typical 17-year-old, Eric loved hanging out with his family and friends spending countless hours cracking jokes and making any time one worth remembering. Eric, his cousin, and their friends couldn’t get enough time together, so they decided to all work for the local Frosty in Jamestown. This way they never missed any moment together.
Eric will not only be remembered for these amazing times but also for his unfathomable athletic ability on the football field and basketball court. Eric was blessed to have had the opportunity to be coached by some of the best around and the friends he obtained from sports lasted even after the season ended. Eric touched so many lives in the best 17 years he spent on this earth and will live in the hearts he touched forever.
In an effort to relieve any unseen financial personal burden for the Family, a Go Fund me page was established. On behalf of the Family and Friends of Eric Aguiar, we would like to thank you in advance of any donations to help the family in this time of need.
