Eric and Paul Kutil Accident Expenses

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ed Cz. Some of you know Eric Kutil as your favorite builder, content creator, competitor, GLTC race car driver, JDM Fanboy, and the list goes on. To me and a few others, he is one of our closes friends. This morning we were alerted that on the way back from the Gridlife GLTC Race @ COTA somewhere south of Nashville, a bad accident occurred that resulted in Eric and his Dad, Paul, leaving the highway after an impact and landing in a ravine. Eric's new-to-him truck they were driving, the trailer, a significant amount of equipment, and possibly the race car are all total losses. We were all extremely relieved to know that Eric and Paul were not seriously injured.

This accident comes right on the heels of the last. A little over a year ago, Eric had an accident at Road America where the EG was written off. Eric, not being one to stay down, put together this new car in record time. The amount of blood, sweat, tears, time, money and energy put into this new chassis was significant, to say the least. The new car was finally finished, shaken down, and ready to tackle a fresh season starting with the first race at Circuit of the Americas. Eric was accompanied by the best crew chief out there - his dad Paul Kutil - and they put on an impressive showing despite some obstacles to take a podium position for the weekend.

This thing we do for fun is inherently dangerous from several angles. Many of us suit up and take the grid without a second thought and keep all of those potential dangers out of sight and out of mind. One of the least considered angles of danger is the extremely long tows - often through the night - to get to and from an event. We are blessed to know that Eric and Paul are ok and want to help with some of the costs Eric and Paul will face while sorting through the damage and rebuilding. Eric has always been one to help others, I can't count how many friend and competitor cars he has helped align, setup, fab something for, and finish in his garage right before an event. The number of cars he and Paul have helped fix in the paddock in between races is also a testament to the team and the competitors they are. Eric and his dad have given so much to the community and are not ones to have ever asked for anything in return. Funds donated will go to recovery costs, damage-related expenses, and ultimately - when Eric and Emily are physically and emotionally ready - rebuilding.

We want to be clear - there will not be another mad rush to complete a car like Eric is famous for doing. This time around it will take a lot longer and involve significantly more life, work, build balance. If/When the Kutil Family is ready - they will have the resources they need to put it all back together and get back out there to fight for podiums.

Let's show him what this unbelievable community is all about.
