Eric Davila Medical Expense Fund

One of my dear friends, Eric Davila is scheduled for a medically necessary surgery next week and just got the anticipated immediate cost - $6,000. Eric has 1-2 stage thyroid cancer.

They are removing his whole thyroid because he has a genetic mutation that could potentially cause cancer to recur. During thyroid removal, they are also doing an exploratory open biopsy to check for cancer in the swollen lymph nodes in his neck. If they find cancer, he will possibly need radiation or chemotherapy. He has follow ups with endocrinologists, surgeons, oncologists, follow-up scans, blood work and even more copays with seeing the specialists. He will also be out of work for 3-4weeks, best case scenario.

We are all very hopeful for a full recovery, but the healing journey ahead is going to require a lot of support.
