Eric Hord

As some of you may or may not know, Eric Hord in our Nashville office has been diagnosed with throat cancer.

About a month and half ago, the right side of Eric’s neck swelled up and he went in to get it checked out. They did an ultrasound and asked him to come back the same day for a scan.

At that time, they confirmed he had a small tumor in his throat at the base of his tongue. The swelling was his lymph nodes on his neck. After several weeks of Dr’s appointments, blood work and scans, he is finally able to begin actual treatment.

The good news is the cancer has not spread anywhere else. His doctors also tell him he is very curable, and they have treated worse cases the same way and have been very successful.

Yesterday he had a minor procedure to put in his Chemo port and he will begin radiation on Thursday. (He’s back here in the office today… what a trooper!)

He will then have chemo starting next Monday once a week and radiation 5 times a week over the next 7-8 weeks.

Eric’s prognosis is very good, but I am certain he would appreciate any prayers you can send his way. He plans to keep working through all of this. He’s been a good friend and great co-worker to many of us and we should lift him up over the next several months. The hope he is cancer free by football season and back to 100% by Christmas.

With our support, God’s Grace, and the work of his doctors, I’m sure these goals are attainable. We all know he’s gonna fight like hell!
