Eric Maloney - Medical Bills
Donation protected
To say Eric loves music is to understate on an epic level. Eric has devoted his life to being part of the music industry. Whether it be serving as the booking agent for The Mighty Blue Kings, Michael McDermott, and Anne Harris among others, moving crowds as DJ Soda PoP, writing for various online music publications, or being an avid fan, music has been the focus of Eric's life. He has recently been working as a tour driver for national artists such as Neutral Milk Hotel, Kurtis Blow, and others.
Sadly, Eric has hit on hard times. always the first to help a friend in need, lend a hand when no one else is willing or able, and give the shirt off his back at the snap of a finger, Eric has been having some medical issues and they are serious.
Eric, grew up as a 3 sport athlete, has recently been dealing with a severe neck injury that renders his right arm useless. He has also been having serious lower back issues AND his knees have been causing him constant pain.
Eric, never the one to complain, has been trying to work through all of this against the doctor's wishes. In truth, Eric has been pushing himself and his body way beyond what he can handle. His Doctor is asking him to stop working and rest but he just can't afford to.
He has surgery scheduled for 12/4 on his neck and it sounds a bit dicey. He has cervical spondylosis and myelopathy. I spoke to Eric and he described the first surgery:
" The operation is called r-sided foraminotomies @ the C4-5, C5-6, and C7-T1 vertebrae. They’re drilling holes through those vertebrae to try and free up room for the nerve to conduct. They can’t predict how the nerve will respond or if it will improve anything."
Assuming (fingers crossed) that goes well they will be operating on his lower back to correct his lumbar spinal stenosis and then his knees (patella chondromalacia). The estimate from the doctor is that the whole process will keep Eric out of working condition for 6 months! This is where we come in.
Eric has spent a lifetime helping others, from volunteering with countless organizations, booking and promoting benefit shows, or helping friends in need. Now he needs our help. We are hoping to raise money to help him while he is recovering from these surgeries so he can stay in his apartment, eat healthy, and get back on his feet.
Any donation is appreciated and I can honestly say Eric is humbled and grateful for your help. We all are. Together we can help a great man through a tough time.![](https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/34217782_1541714068536387_r.jpeg)
